THE ITEM

Presenting a sleek and chic piece of Art Deco influenced design.

The decor and form bears traces of Art Nouveau influence within the primary Art Deco design. Art Nouveau is commonly characterised by the use of long, sinuous, organic lines and these lines are evident within the swirls and waves, highlighted by the stylised red strokes.

A stunning piece which would suit a room inspired by themes of Art Deco, Art Nouveau or Brocante.

A BIT OF HISTORY

Moschendorf began life as Kühnert & Tischler in 1879, founded by Hermann Kühnert. Kühnert had purchased a paper mill a year before, with plans to convert the mill into a manufactory specialising in porcelain production, By 1895, the company was ready to expand and was renamed to Moschendorf, growing to 9 kilns and a workforce of 700.

Sadly, the company was heavily impacted by the first and second world war, the experience and good reputation could not help the factory and following massive financial problems, the factory closed on in November 1957.
