THE ITEM
Attributed to Sadler Pottery, UK, this chic wall pocket vase brings with it the elegant glamour and stylish vibes of the mid century La Dolce Vita style.
While many designers of the time tread the fine line between constraint and adornment, others had sought a return to the Art Deco style of opulence. From this, came the La Dolce Vita style and luxuriant handcrafted designs.
This piece echoes the style of the time, with the stylised waves in shimmering gloss Pale Lemon yellow glaze that forms an abstract shell form. Very tactile, the delineations are trimmed and gilded in 22ct. gold paint.
CONDITION
Excellent. There are no chips or repairs. There is light wear predominantly in the form of light crazing all over and mild wear to the gold gilding that is commensurate with the age of the piece. Please refer to photos as they form part of the condition report. The underside of this piece bears the stamp 'WARRANTED 22Kt. GOLD'.
