THE ITEM
This stunning work is of mid-century, Czech Modernist art glass.
This sculpted piece has the hallmarks of a Skrdlovice colour palette, with a warm Cinnamon amber that is Sommerso clear cased and which merges with the Cobalt blue.
The piece is compact but substantial, weighing in at nearly 1 kg. The well-balanced form curves smoothly at the rim, like a balloon. As you reach the clear glass casing, the glass is 'pinched', creating four 'dimples' in the glass towards the base. These glass 'dimples' gives the glass a prismatic ability which creates some wonderful refractions when in the path of sunlight.
An elegant work of art glass that would be well suited to a room with Modernist, Contemporary or even Industrialist theme inspired decor.
