THE ITEM
A wonderfully vibrant piece with the stylised handle that hints at art deco and art nouveau influence. The glaze is matte yet an electrifying, vibrant turquoise, thick and sumptuous, the mottled lava runs down the vase in varying degrees of intensity.

The inside of the vase is glazed with a glossy deep indigo-blue, abstract colours that might make you think of peacock feathers! An elegantly simple vase that could suit a Vintage, Retro or even a Bohemian decor themed room.

A BIT OF HISTORY
Sadly, collectors and enthusiasts of Marei are still working on recovering more information about Marei as little is known. However, what is known is that part of it began when Emons & Söhne was founded in 1921 in Rheinbach. The company was split in 1948 (due to financial difficulties resulting from the war) and this split formed two factories (ES and Marei). ES was run by Josef Emons and Marei run by Jean Fuss.
