This exquisitely intricate work is of French Art Nouveau design. The external casing displays a number of features in raised relief. On the main body, there are cherubs at play; fishing on one side and accompanying a deer on the other. There are also visages of cherub angels featured at the front and back, and the spout depicts a Bacchus-like figure. The piece is further decorated with finely detailed, stylised plume scrolling and flora. The piece is finished with a handblown pale azure blue bubble of glass within the shell.
This resplendent work is an stunning example of Art Nouveau design and decorative arts.
CONDITION
Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs. There is mild wear is commensurable with the age of the piece, please see photos as part of the condition report. The underside of the ewer is initialled with 'M D'.
